“Before We Lose Each Other Again”, the first release from Max Ryan & Where Were You At Lunch, was recorded over four days with producer Nick Huggins.
Vocalist Max Ryan is also a published poet and WWYAL are a Melbourne band made up of Samaan Fieck (Smash Tennis, Wife), Peter Emptage (Hello Sate
llites, Paddock) and Kishore Ryan (Ghost Gums, Kid Sam).
The album slurs between post-punk recklessness and minimal sagacity. Max Ryan has said of the recording process, “It felt very much like we were all in it together and the brilliant Nick Huggins is definitely an equal player. Even though Kishore’s my son it always felt we were just two pieces in the jigsaw.”
“Before We Lose Each Other Again” was launched at Queensland Poetry Festival on Saturday the 25th of August 2012 and will be launched at Dane Certificate’s Magic Tricks, Gags & Theatre on the 30th of November.
