Ann Witherall moved from South Australia to Melbourne and became involved with the punk scene in 1984. In the late 80’s and early 90’s she travelled overseas living in various squats and on several traveller’s sites. In 2006 she returned to Australia and then school to follow her dream of being a novelist.
Her novel FLY is based on her experiences in Melbourne between 1984-1986. Ann’s next novel SAVE will be set in the Melbourne punk/squatting scene between 1986-1988. The 3rd in the series will be set in the U.S., London and Dutch punk/hardcore and squatting scenes.
All of her novels are based on extracts from her diaries mixed with fictional characters.
Ian Gibbins has spent most of his adult life in labs trying to figure out what one earth he’s been looking at down a microscope. Supposedly, nerves, but who’d ever know?? He’s also spent a disproportionate amount of time trying to teach medical and science students what they are really like beneath their skins. Along the way, he’s managed to write some poems and get them published. Now and then he inflicts his electronic music on unsuspecting punters as well. He’s recently retired so he can put more time and energy into making noise & being awesome.
