‘City of Men’ is often cited as a spin-off of the film ‘City of God’; City of Men is a less violent and more light-hearted programme. However, the two do share some common aspects: the directors, some of the actors, and the setting of the Brazilian favela with its background of gangsters and poverty. The DVD has seasons 1 & 2. There is also a film adaptation of the series, also called City of Men, released in 2007.
After some incredible online voting for which film to show, two films came out NECK AND NECK with 33% of the votes each. So, we are splitting the opening night into TWO opening nights! June 27th will show Moon, and a week later on July 7th, we will show City of God.
